I’m Oleksii, a senior full-stack engineer based in Spain. For 10+ years I’ve built web products, improved legacy systems and kept them running in production.
It started in high school, when I built an online store for my father’s business. It had real customers, and that got me hooked on solving real problems with code. Later I got degrees in law and engineering, but I chose software.
I started as a WordPress freelancer, then worked at agencies and outsourcing companies: LP5, TeamDev and PioGroup. There I worked on PHP applications, CMS projects, APIs and client work, in very different teams.
Since 2018 I’ve worked at WebSpellChecker. I own core parts of the SaaS there: the Laravel backend, Vue.js dashboard features, Stripe billing, AWS infrastructure, Docker and CI/CD.
Day to day I work with AI coding agents: Claude Code, Codex and Hermes, my self-hosted agent. I set up the project context, rules and checks around each task. Architecture, code review and what goes to production are still my decisions.
Outside of work, I lift weights, hike in the mountains around Spain, and spend time with my family. I enjoy Linux, open-source tools, and hardware projects when time allows.
Most of my work sits between product and code: making old systems easier to change, simplifying releases, and shipping the features the business actually needs.
I own core parts of the SaaS: Laravel backend, Vue.js product features, Stripe billing, AWS infrastructure and CI/CD. I cut database load by about 50% with query optimization, indexes and Redis caching, and moved releases from manual SSH deploys to Docker and AWS Fargate with GitHub Actions.
At TeamDev and PioGroup I worked on client and internal projects with PHP, Laravel, WordPress, React, Vue.js, APIs and plugins, for companies like DHL Consulting and Artnet.
I started with freelance WordPress and PHP projects: custom sites, backend features and responsive layouts. That’s where I learned to ship work for real businesses.
I pick simple, proven tools and a clear architecture. The stack should help the product move faster and stay easy to maintain.
What matters to me is the result: simple solutions, clear communication, and code that’s still easy to change a year later.
